      Product Detail

    Nature
Black to brown black amorphous powder. Melting point about 1330℃; d About 6.4. Heat of formation (25℃) -37.lkcal /rnol. Soluble in acid into copper salt, soluble in ammonia, ammonium chloride and potassium cyanide solution, respectively, to produce soluble complex salt, but also soluble in alkali hydroxide dilute solution and blue, insoluble in water, ethanol. Reacts in contact with acetylene and berkelium.

    Preparation
Electrolytic copper is dissolved in nitric acid and heated in the presence of excess copper to a solution pH of about 4. Filter and evaporate the solution to produce green basic nitrates. Continue to heat up, the resulting solids are crushed and then burned at 700℃ for a few hours to obtain pure copper oxide powder.

    Use
Trace analytical reagents, such as carbon determination. Oxidizing agent. The catalyst. Blue glass, blue green gem manufacturing. Metal bonding curing agent.

    Security
Inhalation, ingestion or skin contact may cause delayed reactions. If skin or eyes come into contact with the substance, rinse immediately with water.

    Properties:
    - It is a basic oxide and can react with acids to form corresponding salts.
    - Copper oxide has excellent catalytic properties and can be used as a catalyst.
    Purpose:
Copper oxide is widely used in industry. It can be used as a component of pigments and dyes, and is employed in the manufacturing of ceramics, glass, coatings and inks.
Copper oxide can also be used to prepare other copper compounds, such as copper nitrate and copper acetate.
Technically, copper oxide is commonly used as a catalyst, for instance in methanol synthesis, ammonia reduction and organic chemical reactions.
Copper oxide can also be used in the manufacturing of batteries, electronic devices, preservatives, and antifungal agents, among other fields.
    Method:
    - One simple method for preparing copper oxide is to subject copper metal to an oxidation reaction. Copper can directly react with oxygen in the air to form copper oxide.
    - Another method for preparing copper oxide is to react copper salts with alkali to produce the precipitated copper hydroxide, and then heat the copper hydroxide to decompose it to obtain copper oxide.
    Safety Information:
    - Copper oxide is generally regarded as a relatively safe compound, but direct contact with skin and eyes should still be avoided.
    - When handling and storing copper oxide, relevant safety operating procedures and protective equipment must be followed.
    - Store copper oxide in a dry and well-ventilated place, away from flammable materials and oxidants.

    Main purpose

    1. It can be used as an organic synthesis catalyst, as an analytical reagent (for nitrogen determination), an oxidant, a catalyst and a petroleum desulfurizer. It can also be used for the determination of carbon in organic compounds.
    2. It is used as a coloring agent in the glass, enamel, ceramic industries, a wrinkle inhibitor in paints, and a polishing agent for optical glass. It is used to manufacture dyes, organic catalyst carriers, and copper compounds. It is also used in the manufacture of artificial silk and as a desulfurizer for oils. It serves as a raw material for other copper salts and is a raw material for artificial gemstones.
    3. Applications of nano-copper oxide
    (1) It has extensive applications as an important inorganic material in fields such as catalysis, superconductivity, and ceramics.
    (2) It is used as a catalyst, catalyst carrier, and electrode active material.
    (3) It is used as a coloring agent for glass and porcelain, a polishing agent for optical glass, an organic synthesis catalyst, an oil desulfurizer, a hydrogenating agent.
