‌2-EH (2-ethylhexanol) is a colorless, transparent, oily liquid, mainly used in the production of chemical products such as plasticizers and surfactants‌‌.

‌Chemical properties‌: soluble in most organic solvents, slightly soluble in water, can form azeotropes with water, and can be miscible with various organic solvents such as alcohol.

2-Ethylhexanol mainly used as a raw material for PVC plasticizers. Used as a solvent and preservative. Octanol is mainly used in the manufacture of phthalate esters and aliphatic dibasic ester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate, etc. Plastic primary plasticizers and cold-resistant plasticizers, defoamers, dispersants, mineralizers, and petroleum fillers are also used in printing, dyeing, and filming.

2-Ethylhexanol is a branched, eight-carbon chiral alcohol (C₈H₁₈O). It's a colorless liquid, poorly soluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. It's a versatile chemical intermediate used in the production of plasticizers, particularly for vinyl chloride, and also in adhesives and paints. It's known for its low volatility and is used as a solvent in coatings and lacquers.
