Extinguishing Media:
Use water mist, dry powder, sand, foam or carbon dioxide extinguishing agents.
Avoid using straight water jet for fire fighting, as straight water may cause splashing of flammable liquids and spread the fire.

Flammable. Its vapours can form explosive mixtures with air, which can ignite and explode when exposed to open flames or high heat. Vapours are heavier than air and can spread to distant places at lower levels, and may ignite and backfire (flash explosion) when encountering ignition sources.

Firefighters must wear full fire-resistant and toxic gas protective clothing and air respirators, and fight the fire upwind. In case of a large fire, firefighters must operate in a protected shelter. Protective Measures, Protective Equipment and Emergency Response Procedures for Operators:
Eliminate all ignition sources. Demarcate a warning zone based on the affected area of liquid flow and vapour diffusion, and evacuate irrelevant personnel from the crosswind and upwind directions to a safe area. It is recommended that emergency response personnel wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus, anti-static clothing and rubber oil-resistant gloves. All equipment used during the operation must be grounded. Do not touch or cross the leaked material. Cut off the source of the leak as much as possible. Prevent the leaked material from entering water bodies, sewers, basements or confined spaces.
Small leaks: Absorb with sand or other non-combustible materials. Collect the absorbed materials with clean non-sparking tools.
Large leaks: Build dikes or dig pits for containment. Use alcohol-resistant foam to cover and reduce evaporation. Spraying water mist can reduce evaporation but cannot reduce the flammability of the leaked material in confined spaces. Transfer to tank trucks or special collectors with explosion-proof pumps.
