    Polyamide powder (nylon 6), chemically known as polycaprolactam, has the structural formula [-NHCH25CO -]n. It is a semi-transparent or milky white thermoplastic resin with excellent self-lubricating properties, wear resistance and solvent resistance. Polyamide powder (nylon 6) is less rigid than nylon 66 and is widely used. When polyamide powder (nylon 6) is used as fiber, it is called nylon 6 or capron. When made into plastic, it is called nylon 6. Polyamide powder (nylon 6) was successfully developed in 1938, and industrial production of nylon 6 began in 1943.
