DSIP  is an endogenous peptide composed of 9 amino acids. Its chemical structure is pyroglutamyl-alanyl-aspartyl-glutamyl-threonyl-glycyl-glutamyl-alanyl-leucyl-amide. It exists naturally in the human body, is mainly secreted by certain neurons in the brain, and can also be prepared by artificial synthesis.

DSIP  mainly acts on the central nervous system, binds to specific receptors, regulates the release of neurotransmitters and the activity of neurons, and thus affects the sleep - wake cycle. It is believed to promote the brain to enter a sleep state, especially increasing the duration and depth of slow - wave sleep.
