It is used as an intermediate for the pesticide propyl bromide phosphorus and can also be applied in other organic synthesis production methods. The preparation method is to obtain 2-chloro-4-bromophenol by brominating o-chlorophenol. A certain amount of o-chlorophenol and solvent are quantitatively drawn into the enamel reactor. Under the conditions of stirring, negative pressure and cooling, a certain amount of bromine is slowly added to the reactor. The temperature is controlled at 8 to 12℃. After the bromine is completely added, the reaction continues at room temperature for 2 hours. Then, at room temperature, a certain amount of 30% alkali solution is slowly added to neutralize the reactants. After stirring for 0.5 hours, the materials are drawn into the stratifier. After standing for more than 4 hours, the lower layer becomes a 55% to 60% sodium 2-chloro-4-bromophenol aqueous solution. Acidification yields 2-chloro-4-bromophenol.
