Methyl 2-Hydroxyethyl Cellulose is a non-ionic water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose via etherification modification, commonly used as a thickener, stabilizer, and water-retaining agent, and widely applied in architectural coatings, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, and other fields.

(1) Construction field: Mainly used in cement mortar, putty powder, coatings, etc. It can enhance the water retention of materials to prevent cracking, improve the construction fluidity and anti-sagging performance, and at the same time increase the bonding strength of coatings or mortar.

(2) Cosmetics/daily chemical field: Used as a thickener and stabilizer in products such as emulsions, creams, shampoos and toothpaste. It can adjust the viscosity of products to make the texture more uniform, and also help lock in moisture to improve the user experience.

(3) Food field: Used as a food additive (subject to relevant standards) in sauces, baked foods, beverages, etc. It plays the roles of thickening, stabilizing the emulsification system, improving taste and extending shelf life.

(4) Pharmaceutical field: Often used in preparations such as tablets, capsules, ointments and eye drops. It can be used as a binder, thickener, suspending agent or film coating material to help form, improve drug stability and control drug release rate.

(5) Other fields: It can also be used in the paper industry (to improve pulp performance), textile industry (as a sizing agent to enhance fiber bonding), agriculture (as a water-retaining agent to improve soil moisture) and so on.

(2) Stabilizing function: It can adsorb on the surface of dispersed particles to prevent particle agglomeration or sedimentation. At the same time, it stabilizes emulsified systems (such as emulsions and creams) to prevent oil-water separation and extend the product shelf life.

(3) Water retention function: Its molecular structure can bind a large amount of water, reducing the rate of water evaporation. In construction mortar, soil improvement, and cosmetics, it can lock in water to prevent materials from cracking or products from drying out due to water loss.

(4) Bonding function: It has a certain degree of adhesiveness, which can bond dispersed particles (such as cement and powder raw materials) together, improving the formability and strength of materials (such as putty powder and tablets).

(5) Suspending function: It can reduce the sedimentation rate of solid particles in liquids, making particles evenly dispersed in the system (such as pesticide suspensions and pharmaceutical oral liquids) to ensure uniform product components.
