Polyglycolic acid is a crystalline polymer with a crystallinity of 46-52%, a density of 1.5-1.64g/cm3, a glass transition temperature of around 36 ℃, a melting point of about 224 ℃, and good mechanical properties of high molecular weight polyglycolic acid. Due to its dense crystalline nature, polyglycolic acid is almost insoluble in all organic solvents except for hexafluoroisopropanol. Due to its excellent mechanical and biodegradable properties, polyglycolic acid (PGA) has been applied in many fields such as tissue engineering scaffolds, drug delivery carriers, barrier materials, etc.
