    Description

Chelating Ion Exchange Resin with Aminophosphonic functional groups is a macroporous polystyrene–divinylbenzene copolymer resin functionalized with aminophosphonic acid groups. These functional groups exhibit strong chelation affinity for multivalent cations, particularly alkaline earth metals and transition metals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, uranium, and rare earth elements. Compared to iminodiacetate chelating resins, aminophosphonic resins offer greater selectivity for hardness ions and superior stability in strongly acidic environments. They are widely used in metal recovery, water softening where high selectivity is required, and in hydrometallurgical processes.

    Applications

    • Selective removal of calcium and magnesium (hardness ions) from process streams

    • Recovery of rare earth elements and uranium from leach liquors

    • Hydrometallurgy and mining operations

    • Removal of iron, copper, and other metals from industrial wastewater

    • Softening and deionization of high-salinity waters

    • Catalyst recovery and purification processes

    • Pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications involving metal ion control

    Key Features

    • Aminophosphonic functional group for strong chelation of alkaline earth and transition metals

    • Excellent selectivity compared to conventional cation exchange resins

    • High stability in strongly acidic media

    • Macroporous structure for improved kinetics and physical durability

    • Long service life in heavy-duty applications
