Additionally, the ketone functional groups in DHA can react with the amino acids and amino groups of skin keratin to form brown polymers, giving people an artificial brown complexion. Therefore, it can also be used as a mimic of sun-tanned skin, producing a brown or tanned appearance similar to that of prolonged sun exposure, making it look aesthetically pleasing. 2.
