1. Product Overview
AHK, whose common abbreviation is AHK, has a chemical full name of L-Alanyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine. Its industry aliases include Tripeptide-3 and AHK Cosmetic & Healthcare Peptide, with the sequence name H-Ala-His-Lys-OH and the corresponding CAS number 126828-32-8. The molecular formula is C₁₅H₂₆N₆O₄, and the molecular weight is 354.41. The product appears as a white to off-white powder in a free-state (non-copper complexed) form. The high-purity specification is ≥99.0%, with a peptide content of ≥80.0%, an acetate content ranging from 5.0% to 12.0%, and a moisture content of ≤8.0%.
2. Core Functions and Mechanisms of Action
As a highly active signal peptide, AHK's core functions revolve around skin health regulation, with scientific and clear mechanisms of action. Firstly, in terms of skin repair and anti-aging, it acts as a signaling molecule to activate skin cell metabolism, promote the recovery of damaged skin tissue, and reshape the normal physiological functions of the skin. Meanwhile, it effectively inhibits collagen carboxylation, reduces collagen loss, enhances skin firmness, and delays the natural aging process of the skin. Secondly, it possesses significant antioxidant and collagen maintenance effects, capable of actively scavenging free radicals in the skin, reducing oxidative stress-induced damage to skin cells, and minimizing lipid peroxidation. It also regulates the balance of collagen metabolism, promotes the synthesis of high-quality collagen, improves skin elasticity and radiance, and helps fade fine lines and dry lines caused by collagen loss. Furthermore, it can optimize the overall skin condition by promoting the synthesis of skin barrier lipids (ceramides, cholesterol), enhancing the skin barrier function, improving skin moisture retention capacity, and alleviating issues such as rough texture, dullness, and dryness. It is particularly suitable for repair scenarios of sensitive and damaged skin, being gentle and non-irritating. In addition, the histidine residue of AHK has special chelating potential, which can form an AHK-Cu complex by chelating with copper ions (Cu²⁺), further enhancing skin repair effects and the penetration capacity of active ingredients (Note: The raw material released by the boss is free-state AHK without copper complexation identification; complexation requires additional technological processing).
3. Application Scenarios
AHK's application scenarios are mainly concentrated in the cosmetic field, and can also be extended to pharmaceutical intermediates and biological research reagents. In the cosmetic field, it is first applicable to anti-aging skincare products, such as serums, creams, eye creams, etc. It can be used as a core anti-aging ingredient, focusing on firming, wrinkle reduction, fading fine lines, and improving skin elasticity, suitable for mid-to-high-end anti-aging skincare series. Secondly, it can be used in repair products, including sensitive skin repair masks, redness-soothing serums, after-sun repair lotions, etc., which can quickly soothe skin sensitivity and redness, accelerate the healing of damaged skin barriers, and reduce the impact of external stimuli on the skin. In addition, it can be added to daily care products, such as toners, lotions, essence lotions, etc., to improve the overall skin condition by enhancing skin moisture and radiance, suitable for all skin types including dry, normal, combination, and sensitive skin. In other fields, AHK can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate for the R&D and production of topical preparations for skin repair; it can also be used as a biological research reagent in scientific experiments related to tissue engineering and wound repair.
4. Packaging
We offer flexible and customizable packaging options to meet the diverse needs of different orders and customers.
5. Storage Requirements
To maximize the activity, stability, and shelf life of AHK, the following storage requirements must be strictly followed. Regarding temperature control, long-term storage (more than 3 months) is recommended to be stored at -20℃ under freeze-dried and light-proof conditions, which can effectively extend the product shelf life; short-term storage (≤3 months) can be stored in sealed refrigeration at 2-8℃, avoiding excessive temperature fluctuations. The storage environment should be dry, well-ventilated, and cool, with relative humidity controlled at ≤60%, away from heat sources, fire sources, oxidants, and acids and alkalis to prevent product oxidation, deterioration, or chemical reactions. The storage container must always be kept in a vacuum or sealed state to avoid air and moisture entering, leading to product moisture absorption and oxidation; after opening the product, it should be used as soon as possible, and the remaining part should be tightly resealed and stored back in the corresponding temperature environment to reduce the contact time with air. In terms of shelf life, unopened products have a shelf life of 2 years when stored at -20℃ and 1 year when stored at 2-8℃; it is recommended to use the product within 1 month after opening to ensure that the product activity is not affected.
