Ghk-cu (blue Copper peptide/tripeptide-1 copper) is a complex formed by glycyyl-histamyl-lysine Tripeptide (GHK) and divalent copper ion (Cu²⁺), with the INCI name copper tripeptide-1 and CAS number 49557-75-7. Its core functions include promoting repair, anti-aging, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation. It is widely used in skin care and hair care fields and is a classic active peptide ingredient in skin care products.


Mechanism of action and core efficacy
1. Core mechanism of action

Promote skin repair: Activate fibroblasts, promote the synthesis of collagen (type I/III), elastin, and glycosaminoglycans (such as hyaluronic acid), accelerate wound healing, and reduce scar formation;
Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory: Eliminate free radicals (such as superoxide anions, hydroxyl radicals), inhibit lipid peroxidation, reduce the release of inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-6), and alleviate skin sensitivity;
Regulate gene expression: Upregulate anti-aging related genes, reverse gene abnormalities caused by ultraviolet damage, and maintain the activity of skin stem cells;
Hair care effect: Stimulate the proliferation of dermal papilla cells in hair follicles, improve the microenvironment of hair follicles, reduce hair loss and enhance the strength of hair quality.

Iii. Key Points of Use and Precautions
1. Compatibility taboos (Core!)"

Avoid combination with high-concentration vitamin C (> 5%), EDTA, fruit acids (high concentration), and strong alkaline components (pH > 8), as it may complex copper ions or damage the peptide structure.
Avoid excessive combination with parabens in preservatives, as it may reduce activity.
Recommended combinations: ceramide, squalane, hyaluronic acid (mild moisturizing ingredients), to enhance the repair effect.

2. Concentration and usage frequency

Daily skin care: 0.1% to 0.5% concentration, 3 to 5 times a week. Sensitive skin starts to build tolerance from 0.1%.
After medical aesthetic treatment: 0.5% to 1% concentration, once a day, for 1 to 2 consecutive weeks.
Hair care: Apply 0.2% to 0.5% concentration directly to the scalp 2 to 3 times a week.

3. Safety

It has extremely low skin irritation and no systemic toxicity after dermal absorption, making it suitable for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin.
For use by pregnant or lactating women (for external use only), contraindicated for oral use.
Rare adverse reactions: Transient local redness (mostly caused by excessive concentration or damage to the skin barrier), which can be restored after discontinuation.
