Octenidine dihydrochloride is a cationic bispyridine antiseptic agent widely used in clinical practice for the prevention and treatment of local infections . Chemically designated as N-octyl-1-[10-(4-octyliminopyridin-1-yl)decyl]pyridin-4-imine dihydrochloride, it has a molecular formula of C36H64Cl2N4 and a molecular weight of approximately 623.8 g/mol .
