    Product Introduction

Sorbitol (D-Glucitol, CAS:50-70-4,EINECS:200-061-5, HS Code:2905440000, molecular formula C₆H₁₄O₆, MW:182.17) is a natural polyol sugar alcohol produced via high-pressure catalytic hydrogenation of glucose derived from corn starch. We offer two mainstream specifications: food/cosmetic grade 70% aqueous solution and food grade 99% crystalline powder, both strictly complying with GB 2760-2014, USP, FCC and EU food safety standards. Sorbitol features 60% sweetness of sucrose, low calorie content (2.6kcal/g), excellent moisture retention, non-cariogenic properties and good thermal stability. As a versatile functional ingredient, it is widely used as sweetener, humectant, bulking agent and excipient in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

    Reactivity Profile:

SORBITOL is an alcohol. Flammable and/or toxic gases are generated by the combination of alcohols with alkali metals, nitrides, and strong reducing agents. They react with oxoacids and carboxylic acids to form esters plus water. Oxidizing agents convert them to aldehydes or ketones. Alcohols exhibit both weak acid and weak base behavior. They may initiate the polymerization of isocyanates and epoxides.
