    N-Acetyl-DL-Tryptophan (CAS 87-32-1), also known as DL-N-Acetyltryptophan and Ac-DL-Trp-OH, is a compendially qualified pharmaceutical excipient manufactured by Covvalent at its cGMP-compliant facility in India to USP, Ph. Eur. (EP), and BP specifications. Assay 99.0–101.0%. Molecular formula C13H14N2O3, molecular weight 246.26 g/mol.


    The compound functions as an antioxidant stabiliser for Human Albumin Solution (HAS). The N-acetyl group enables high-affinity binding at the fatty-acid binding sites (FA1, Trp-214 binding zone) of human serum albumin, effectively scavenging free radicals and blocking oxidative degradation pathways triggered by heat and transition-metal ions during the mandatory pasteurisation step.
