• Melting Point: Approximately 46 °C.
• Boiling Point: Ranges between 180 °C and 182 °C.
• Density: Relatively heavy at 1.624 g/cm³ (at 15 °C).
• Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, but highly miscible with organic solvents such as ether, acetone, benzene, and alcohol.2

• Reactivity & Stability: It must be kept away from strong oxidizing agents and alkalis. In industrial water treatment, it is known as a halogenated disinfection by-product (DBP) formed when chlorine or chloramine is used as a secondary disinfectant.2
