HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the trophoblast cells of the placenta. It consists of α and β subunits, with the β subunit being specific. It is secreted after the fertilized egg implants and reaches its peak at 8-10 weeks of pregnancy before decreasing.
Its main functions are to maintain pregnancy and stimulate the secretion of progesterone by the ovarian corpus luteum; it can also promote the development of the fetal gonads, such as the development of interstitial cells in the male fetus' testes and the induction of testosterone secretion.

General storage requirements:
Shade and seal. Store at 2-8℃ in refrigeration, avoiding freezing (freezing may cause protein denaturation and damage biological activity).

Some preparations (such as recombinant HCG) should be stored as per the instructions. They must not exceed the specified temperature range (e.g., short-term storage at no more than 30℃, but still need to be refrigerated for long-term storage).

Notes:
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. After thawing, it should be used as soon as possible and should not be left at room temperature for a long time (activity may decrease over time at room temperature).
