    Core Characteristics:

    1. Physical Properties
    (1) Appearance and Odor: A colorless, transparent liquid at room temperature; highly volatile.
    (2) Melting and Boiling Points: Melting point -95.3°C, boiling point approximately 68.7°C; it is a low-boiling-point substance and is extremely volatile.
    (3) Density: Density is lower than that of water; it floats on the water’s surface.
    (4) Solubility: Insoluble in water; miscible with most organic solvents such as ethanol, diethyl ether, acetone, benzene, and gasoline; exhibits excellent solubility for nonpolar organic substances such as oils, waxes, rubber, and resins.
    2. Chemical Properties
At standard temperature and pressure, n-hexane is relatively chemically inert; it does not react with strong acids, strong bases, common oxidizing agents, or reducing agents, and participates in chemical reactions only under specific conditions.
    (1) Combustion Reaction: n-Hexane undergoes complete combustion to produce carbon dioxide and water.
    (2) Substitution Reaction: Consistent with other alkanes, n-hexane can undergo radical substitution reactions with elemental halogens under light exposure, producing a mixture of various halogenated hexanes. It is difficult to obtain a single product; therefore, it must be stored separately from elemental halogens.
    (3) Thermal Cracking Reaction: Under high-temperature catalytic conditions, n-hexane undergoes cracking to produce small-molecule alkenes and alkanes; this is one of the reactions used in the petrochemical industry to produce small-molecule chemical raw materials.
    3. Major Applications
    (1) Food Industry
As the core extraction solvent in vegetable oil extraction processes, it is used to extract edible vegetable oils such as soybean oil and rapeseed oil. It offers the advantages of high extraction efficiency, complete recoverability, and low residual solvent levels in the final product, thereby preserving the nutritional components of vegetable oils. It is also used in food testing for the separation and purification of vitamins and contaminants.
    (2) Electronics and Chemical Industries
In the electronics industry, high-purity n-hexane is commonly used as a cleaning agent for circuit boards and precision electronic components. It effectively removes oil and grease from component surfaces and leaves no residue after evaporation.
In chemical production, it serves as a diluent for rubber adhesives and a medium for olefin polymerization reactions. It can also be used as a paint thinner and in biodiesel production, where it acts as a reaction solvent to enhance conversion efficiency.
    (3) Pharmaceutical Sector
It is used for the extraction and purification of natural and synthetic drugs, as well as a reaction solvent for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates. High-purity grades meet the stringent purity requirements for raw materials in pharmaceutical production.
    (4) Research and Other Fields
Reagent-grade n-hexane is used as a reference substance and standard solution in chromatographic analysis, as well as a common solvent in organic synthesis experiments. It is also widely used as a solvent and cleaning agent in fields such as printing ink formulation, leather and footwear adhesives, and plastic product processing.

    Grades and Specifications: Industrial grade.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements.
