Core Characteristics: 

1. Physical Properties
(1) General Appearance and State: A colorless, transparent liquid at room temperature; lighter than water.
(2) Melting and Boiling Points: Melting point -130°C, boiling point 36°C.
(3) Solubility: Slightly soluble in water; miscible with most organic solvents, such as ethanol, diethyl ether, and acetone.
2. Chemical Properties
(1) Stability: Chemically stable; does not react with strong acids or strong bases at room temperature; undergoes transformation only at high temperatures or in the presence of a catalyst.
(2) Combustion Reaction: Complete combustion produces carbon dioxide and water; the combustion process releases a large amount of heat.
(3) Radical Substitution Reaction: Under light exposure, it undergoes non-selective substitution reactions—such as chlorination—with elemental halogens, yielding a mixture of various chloropentanes.
(4) Isomerization and Pyrolysis Reactions: Under the action of catalysts such as aluminum trichloride, it can be isomerized to 2-methylbutane; at temperatures above 600°C, it undergoes pyrolysis to form a mixture of low-carbon olefins such as propylene and butene.
(5) Oxidation Reactions: Under specific catalytic conditions, it can be oxidized to produce maleic anhydride, which is an important route in organic synthesis.
3. Main Applications
(1) Laboratory Analysis: Used as a reference solution in gas chromatography, as a standard substance for analytical testing, and as a desorption agent in molecular sieve regeneration and desorption processes.
(2) Industrial Applications
As a low-boiling-point solvent, it dissolves various organic compounds. It also serves as an environmentally friendly plastic foaming agent that replaces Freon, widely used in the production of polyurethane insulation panels for cold storage facilities and refrigerated trucks. Additionally, it can be blended with 2-methylbutane as a fuel component for automobiles and aircraft.
(3) Special Applications: Due to its low boiling point, it is used in the manufacture of artificial ice and low-temperature thermometers. It can also serve as a raw material for synthesizing other chemical products such as pentanol and isopentane. In the past, it was also used as a medical anesthetic.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements. Standard packaging includes 200 kg galvanized closed-top steel drums and 1,000 L IBC containers. For large volumes, bulk transport via tank containers is available. Storing and transporting the product in a sealed, light-protected environment effectively delays oxidation and discoloration. Supply is stable and ample, supporting full-container and consolidated shipments for international trade, and meeting global chemical procurement and custom fine chemical production needs.
