Dichloromethane (Abbr: DCM, also named Methylene Chloride, CAS: 75-09-2, EINECS: 200-838-9, HS Code: 2903120000) is a colorless, transparent and highly volatile liquid with a characteristic ether-like odor, a widely used chlorinated hydrocarbon polar solvent with molecular formula CH₂Cl₂ and molecular weight 84.93. Packaging & Storage
Standard packaging: 250kg galvanized steel drums with tight-sealing bungs; ISO tank container delivery available for bulk orders. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated hazardous chemical warehouse at below 30°C. Keep containers tightly sealed, away from heat sources, direct sunlight, strong oxidants, alkali metals and food raw materials. The warehouse shall be equipped with explosion-proof ventilation and leakage emergency treatment facilities. Shelf life is 12 months under proper storage conditions.
Safety Information
Classified as Class 6.1 toxic substance for transportation (UN 1593, Packing Group III). Its vapor has anesthetic effect on the central nervous system, and high concentration inhalation may cause dizziness, nausea and even anesthesia symptoms. It is irritating to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Operate in a well-ventilated area, wear gas mask, protective gloves and goggles, and avoid long-term inhalation and skin contact. In case of inhalation, move to fresh air immediately; in case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention if necessary.
