    The general steps for synthesizing isopropyl dodecate (3a) from lauric acid (1a) (2.01g, 10.0mmol) and isopropanol are as follows: dissolve lauric acid (1a) in methanol (10mL) and transfer the solution to a syringe. Install the syringe onto the infusion pump. Pump methanol solution into a stainless steel column (inner diameter 4.0mm x length 50mm, internal volume 0.53mL) filled with HO-SAS (334mg) at a flow rate of 0.177mL/min. Heat the stainless steel column in an oil bath at 110 ℃. Connect the system to the back pressure regulator and maintain the pressure at 75psi. Discard the mixture eluted within the first 10 minutes of the reaction. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was collected within 3 minutes and n-decane was added as an internal standard for gas chromatography (GC) analysis. Continue collecting the reaction mixture in a glass flask for 30 minutes, then evaporate to remove the solvent. The crude product was purified by silica gel (SiO2) rapid column chromatography using hexane/ethyl acetate (volume ratio 5:1) as the eluent, resulting in isopropyl dodecate (3a) (1.13g, yield 99%).Pls input...
