33-560-1 - IntroductionIsopropyl Laurate is an organic compound. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with low viscosity and a relatively mild odor.

A common method for preparing isopropyl laurate is the esterification reaction between isopropanol and lauric acid. The reaction is usually carried out under acidic conditions using acid catalysts such as sulfuric acid or dimethyl sulfate. It can also be obtained through a transesterification reaction between laurate esters and isopropanol.
