Uses	chromium hydroxide green is a color additive used primarily in makeup preparations.

Viridian 3B Preparation Products And Raw materials

Physical Form

Ultrafine amorphous powder, soft and fluffy with slight agglomeration that breaks easily when gently rubbed. No hard gritty crystals; products made by precipitation show a slight gelatinous texture.

2. Color (Key Difference from Anhydrous Chromium Oxide Green)

Main tone: Bright emerald green with a cool blue undertone, clear and vivid.
Anhydrous ordinary chromium oxide green is dull olive dark green with yellowish grey tint, lacking the bright blue shade.
Thin coating shows translucent cyan-green; thick pile presents rich deep emerald green.

3. Luster & Texture

Soft matte finish without metallic luster (anhydrous chromium oxide has metallic sheen). Fine powder with strong tinting strength and hiding power.

4. Two Main Types of Hydrated Chromium Oxide Green

1) Pigment Grade Hydrated Chromium Oxide Green (Guignet’s Green, PG18, mainstream commercial type)

Bright blue-toned emerald ultrafine powder, widely used in cosmetics, oil paints and printing inks for stable vivid color.

2) Industrial Hydrated Chromium Sesquioxide (Cr₂O₃·H₂O)

Dull dark green fine powder with faint metallic luster, mainly applied in catalysis and polishing fields, less transparent and vivid than pigment-grade version.

5. Distinction from Chromium Hydroxide

Chromium hydroxide is greyish blue/grey green powder with pale, dull color. It turns dark green chromium oxide after dehydration by heating.
