Industrial Grade Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate, commonly named Blue Vitriol, with standard CAS No.7758-99-8, is a classic inorganic copper salt produced through copper oxide neutralization, filtration purification, crystallization and low-temperature drying process. Our factory supplies 98% high-purity industrial blue crystal copper sulphate and 96% agricultural grade products, widely used in electroplating, mineral flotation, industrial circulating water treatment, textile printing, fine chemical synthesis and new energy battery industries all over the world.

The finished product presents bright blue uniform granular crystal with obvious crystal luster. It will slowly lose partial crystal water and effloresce when placed in dry air. When dissolved in normal temperature water, it forms transparent blue acidic solution with stable copper ion activity, which is the core functional component for industrial sterilization, flotation separation and electroplating deposition.

In electroplating industry, 98% industrial copper sulphate serves as main copper plating raw material. Low impurity index ensures bright, smooth and uniform copper coating on metal workpieces, effectively avoiding pinholes, fogging and dark layers on plating surface, greatly improving finished product appearance and anti-corrosion performance. For mineral processing plants, copper sulphate acts as activator in sulfide ore flotation to improve the floatability of zinc, gold and copper ores, increase mineral recovery rate and reduce production costs.

Circulating cooling water and sewage treatment factories add copper sulphate as efficient algaecide and bactericide. It rapidly inhibits the reproduction of algae, moss and harmful bacteria in pipelines and cooling towers, preventing pipeline blockage and equipment corrosion caused by biological slime. Textile printing and dyeing industry uses blue vitriol as mordant to enhance dye adhesion on fabric, make printing pattern color bright and firm, avoid color fading and blooming during washing.

Besides core industrial fields, copper sulphate can be applied as raw material for producing other copper salts such as copper carbonate and copper hydroxide; wood preservation agent to resist moth and mold erosion; additive for lithium battery electrolyte; and pigment raw material for inorganic blue dyestuffs. COPPER SULFATE PENTAHYDRATE can be dehydrated by heating. Serves as a weak oxidizing agent. Causes hydroxylamine to ignite. Gains water readily. The hydrated salt is vigorously reduced by hydroxylamine [Mellor 8:292(1946-1947)]. Both forms are incompatible with finely powdered metals. Both are incompatible with magnesium, corrode steel and iron, may react with alkalis, phosphates, acetylene gas, hydrazine, or nitromethane, and may react with beta-naphthol, propylene glycol, sulphathiazole and triethanolamine if the pH exceeds 7 (NTP, 1992). Both act as acidic salts, corrode metals and irritate tissues.
