1. Physical Properties
(1) General Appearance: At room temperature, it is a colorless, transparent liquid with a distinctive odor resembling a mixture of ethanol and acetone; it is highly volatile.
(2) Solubility: It is miscible in any proportion with water, ethanol, diethyl ether, chloroform, and most other organic solvents; it has a greater ability to dissolve lipophilic substances than ethanol.
2. Chemical Properties
(1) Typical Alcohol Reactions: As a secondary alcohol, it can be oxidized to form acetone and water in the presence of a catalyst; it reacts with active metals such as sodium to form sodium isopropylate and release hydrogen gas.
(2) Dehydration Reaction: Under the action of strong acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid, it undergoes a dehydration reaction to form propylene.
(3) Flammability and Explosiveness: Its vapor forms explosive mixtures with air, with an explosive limit of 2.0%–12.7%. It is highly flammable when exposed to open flames or high heat and reacts violently upon contact with strong oxidizing agents.
(4) Other Properties: It is relatively chemically stable at room temperature.
3. Main Applications
(1) Solvent Applications: It serves as a common solvent in the coatings and ink industries, reducing system viscosity and improving application performance; in the electronics industry, it is used as a cleaning agent for electronic components and circuit boards to remove surface oils and impurities.
(2) Chemical Raw Materials: It is a key intermediate in the production of various chemical products, including acetone, isopropyl ether, isopropyl esters, and isopropylamine, playing a vital linking role in the chemical industry chain.
(3) Pharmaceutical and Disinfection Applications: A 70%–75% aqueous solution of isopropyl alcohol denatures bacterial proteins and is used to disinfect medical equipment and skin; in pharmaceutical manufacturing, it also serves as a solvent and extractant for isolating and purifying active pharmaceutical ingredients.
(4) Other Applications: In the cosmetics industry, it is used as a co-solvent and preservative; it is also employed as an oil and fat extractant, gasoline additive, pigment dispersant, and glass anti-fogging agent.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements. Standard packaging includes 200 kg galvanized closed-top steel drums and 1,000 L IBC containers. For large volumes, bulk transport via tank containers is available. Storing and transporting the product in a sealed, light-protected environment effectively delays oxidation and discoloration. Supply is stable and ample, supporting full-container and consolidated shipments for international trade, and meeting global chemical procurement and custom fine chemical production needs.
