Chemical Properties

Zeolite is a crystalline, microporous aluminosilicate material characterized by a highly ordered framework structure and significant ion-exchange and adsorption capacity. Its unique physicochemical properties make it suitable for applications across catalysis, water treatment, environmental protection, agriculture, polymer processing, and various industrial formulations.

1. Catalysis and Petrochemical Applications

Zeolite is widely utilized as a heterogeneous catalyst and catalyst support due to its porous molecular architecture, surface acidity, thermal stability, and shape-selective properties. It is applicable in processes including:

• Selective disproportionation of toluene

• Methanol conversion

• Aromatic hydrocarbon conversion

• Organic waste-gas purification and catalytic oxidation

2. Ion Exchange and Water Treatment

The high cation-exchange capacity of zeolite enables efficient interaction with dissolved metal ions and ammonium species. It is used in:
