Chemical Synthesis
Using methyl acrylate and methyl dichloroacetate as raw materials, dimethyl α‑ketoglutarate is obtained via condensation in the presence of sodium methoxide. It is then hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions to form the dibasic salt of α‑ketoglutaric acid, followed by salt formation
