        Adipotide (FTPP, CAS:859216-15-2) is an innovative research peptide attracting wide attention in obesity and metabolic related exploration.     Mechanism:

    A synthetic chimeric peptide composed of a fat-vascular-targeting cyclic peptide (CKGGRAKDC) linked via a GG spacer to a pro-apoptotic peptide (KLAKLAK)2. Adipotide selectively binds prohibitin in the vasculature of white adipose tissue, then delivers the pro-apoptotic domain to induce vascular disruption, causing fat tissue death. In primate studies (2011), it produced significant weight loss (~11%) but also caused renal toxicity, leading to development discontinuation.

    Activity note:

    Adipotide is not a receptor agonist. It functions as a targeted vascular disruptor. Functional activity is measured by tissue-specific apoptosis, not traditional EC50.
