Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC) 30% – Water Treatment Grade

Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC), CAS No. 1327-41-9, is an inorganic polymeric coagulant widely used in municipal water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, sewage treatment and other clarification processes.

PAC 30% is supplied as a light yellow to yellow solid powder or granular material. The principal quality parameter is alumina (Al₂O₃) content, with the proposed commercial specification at 30% minimum. Product performance is also influenced by basicity, water-insoluble matter, pH and impurity levels.

When dispersed in water, PAC undergoes hydrolysis and forms polymeric aluminum species that promote coagulation and floc formation. These species help destabilize suspended particles and colloidal materials, allowing them to aggregate and subsequently separate through sedimentation or filtration.

PAC is used in a broad range of water-treatment processes because it can be incorporated into conventional coagulation systems and automated dosing systems. Applications include municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater, process-water clarification, sewage treatment, paper-industry wastewater, textile wastewater and other industrial clarification processes.

The product can be supplied in moisture-resistant packaging suitable for domestic handling and international transportation. Standard packaging includes 25kg PP woven bags with PE liners, while jumbo-bag packaging can be arranged for larger-volume requirements.

Quality Positioning

The specification can be aligned with applicable PAC water-treatment standards and customer specifications. GB/T 22627-2022 is the current Chinese national standard for water-treatment Polyaluminium Chloride and covers industrial water, wastewater, sewage and sludge-treatment PAC.

For drinking-water applications specifically, GB 15892-2020 is the current Chinese national standard for Polyaluminium Chloride used in drinking-water treatment.

Important: Do not market an industrial PAC product as drinking-water grade unless the actual product, manufacturing documentation and testing support that claim.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse.

Keep bags tightly closed and protected from rain, humidity and direct water exposure.

Do not store directly on a wet floor.

Avoid prolonged exposure to high humidity because moisture can cause powder caking and deterioration of handling properties.

Keep separated from incompatible materials according to the SDS.

Transportation

Use clean, dry transportation equipment and protect the product from moisture during loading, unloading and transit.
