Xanthoangelol F is a naturally occurring chalcone compound isolated from the stems and roots of Angelica keiskei (Ashitaba), a traditional medicinal plant native to Japan . It belongs to the class of prenylated chalcones and is structurally characterized as (E)-1-[3-[(2E)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dienyl]-2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl]-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one . • PTP1B Inhibition: Demonstrates strong protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) inhibitory effect with an IC₅₀ value of 1.67 μg/mL, making it valuable for research into diabetes and metabolic disorders .

• Vasodilation and Antihypertensive Effects: Inhibits phenylephrine-induced vasoconstriction in rat aortic rings through an endothelium-dependent mechanism involving EDRF/NO production and/or reduction of intracellular calcium ([Ca²⁺]i) elevation . This activity was observed at concentrations of 10–100 μg/mL .

• Heat Shock Protein Induction: Xanthoangelol F was included in studies evaluating HSP25 promoter activity, though other related chalcones (compounds 1 and 6) showed more potent induction effects of 21.9- and 29.2-fold at 10 μM .

• Biotransformation Studies: Serves as a substrate for Aspergillus saitoi-mediated biotransformation, yielding metabolites with potential anti-tumor-promoting activity in in vivo mouse skin carcinogenesis models .
