Long-acting, selective glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist with 94% sequence homology to human GLP-1. Engineered for extended half-life (~1 week) via albumin binding (fatty acid acylation at Lys26) and resistance to DPP-4 degradation (Aib substitution at position 8). Promotes insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon release, delays gastric emptying, and reduces appetite via central nervous system GLP-1R activation.

Potent, selective GLP-1R agonist. Reported binding affinity Ki = 0.38 ± 0.06 nM. Semaglutide is a human GLP-1 analog with structural modifications for albumin binding (C18 fatty diacid at Lys26) and enzymatic stability (Aib8 substitution).
