    Applications

    Water & Wastewater Treatment

Calcium Oxide is widely used as an alkaline reagent in industrial and municipal water-treatment processes. Typical applications include:

    • pH adjustment

    • Acidic wastewater neutralization

    • Alkalinity adjustment

    • Water-softening processes

    • Sludge conditioning

    • Industrial effluent treatment

    • Selected precipitation processes

Its strong alkalinity makes Quicklime particularly useful where controlled neutralization or increased process alkalinity is required.

    Metallurgical Industry

Quicklime is commonly used in metallurgical processes as a flux and process-conditioning material.

    Typical applications include:

    • Steelmaking

    • Slag conditioning

    • Impurity control

    • Non-ferrous metallurgy

    • Mineral processing

    • Process pH adjustment

The appropriate grade should be selected according to CaO content, reactivity, particle size, and impurity requirements.

    Flue-Gas Treatment

Calcium Oxide can be used in suitable environmental treatment systems for:

    • Flue-gas desulfurization

    • Acid-gas neutralization

    • Industrial emission-control processes

    • Selected environmental remediation applications

    Construction

Quicklime is an important raw material in numerous construction and building-material applications, including:

    • Soil stabilization

    • Road construction

    • AAC production

    • Cement manufacturing

    • Mortar and building-material production

    • Ground improvement

    Chemical Manufacturing

Calcium Oxide serves as an alkaline raw material and processing reagent for the manufacture of various calcium compounds.

    It can be used for:

    • Calcium Hydroxide production

    • Chemical neutralization

    • Calcium compound manufacturing

    • pH control

    • Industrial chemical processing

Calcium Oxide reacts with water to produce Calcium Hydroxide:

    CaO + H₂O → Ca(OH)₂

This hydration reaction is strongly exothermic and releases significant heat.

    Mining & Mineral Processing

Industrial Quicklime can be used in mining and mineral-processing operations for:

    • pH control

    • Acid neutralization

    • Process alkalinity adjustment

    • Mineral separation processes

    • Waste and tailings treatment

Product suitability should be evaluated according to the specific process chemistry and operating conditions.

    Packaging

    Standard export packaging:

25 kg PP woven bags with inner PE moisture-resistant liner

Alternative packaging may be available depending on order quantity and customer requirements, including:

    • 50 kg bags

    • 500 kg jumbo bags

    • 1,000 kg jumbo bags

    • Bulk supply

Packaging options should be confirmed before order placement.

    Storage

Calcium Oxide is highly sensitive to moisture and should be stored under dry conditions.

    Recommended storage conditions:

    • Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse

    • Keep packaging tightly sealed

    • Protect from rain and atmospheric moisture

    • Keep away from water

    • Keep away from acids

    • Keep away from incompatible chemicals

    • Avoid prolonged exposure to humid air

    • Store bags above damp floors and protected from direct weather exposure

Exposure to moisture can cause hydration of Calcium Oxide and reduce the active CaO content and product performance.

    Handling & Safety

Calcium Oxide is strongly alkaline and can cause serious irritation or burns upon inappropriate contact.

Avoid generating excessive dust during handling.

Personnel should use suitable protective equipment according to workplace conditions and the current Safety Data Sheet, including appropriate gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and respiratory protection where required.

Quicklime reacts strongly with water and generates considerable heat. Appropriate precautions must therefore be taken during hydration and industrial processing.

Always consult the current product-specific Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling, storage, transportation or use.

    Quality Documentation

Quality documentation can be provided according to the applicable product and order requirements, including:

    • Technical Data Sheet (TDS)

    • Certificate of Analysis (COA)

    • Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

    • Commercial Invoice

    • Packing List

    • Certificate of Origin where applicable

A batch-specific COA should provide the actual analytical results for the material supplied.

    Quality Assurance

Product specifications are controlled according to the applicable production and quality-control requirements. Actual analytical values may vary within the agreed product specification.

Final CaO content, impurity limits, particle size, reactivity and other quality parameters should be confirmed through the applicable Technical Data Sheet and batch Certificate of Analysis.
