Potassium peroxymonosulfate sulfate is a strong oxidizing agent, soluble in water, and acidic in water. It is stable in air, but decomposes at high temperatures to produce toxic gases such as sulfur dioxide and oxygen. It reacts with many other compounds, such as reducing agents and easily oxidizable substances.
