    NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a ubiquitous coenzyme found in all living cells, playing a central role in cellular energy metabolism. It functions as an electron carrier in oxidation‑reduction reactions, accepting electrons to become NADH in catabolic pathways such as glycolysis, the TCA cycle, and mitochondrial electron‑transport‑chain activity. Beyond energy metabolism, NAD+ serves as a substrate for key regulatory enzymes including sirtuins (SIRT1‑7), poly(ADP‑ribose) polymerases (PARPs), and CD38/CD157 ectoenzymes, linking NAD+ levels to DNA repair, gene expression, circadian rhythms, and cellular aging‑related laboratory observations
