Product Detail - Dimethylamine Borane (DMAB)

    Product Overview

Dimethylamine Borane (DMAB, Borane-Dimethylamine Complex) is a white crystalline solid coordination compound formed between dimethylamine and borane. It is widely used as a reducing agent in electroless nickel and gold plating (PCB manufacturing, semiconductor packaging, connector and electronics surface finishing), and as a hydride-transfer reducing agent in organic synthesis for the selective reduction of aldehydes and ketones. Its water and alcohol solubility make it suitable for aqueous plating bath formulations.

    Applications

    • For black oxide process, reduces acid-soluble CuO to Cu₂O on copper surfaces, preventing pink ring defects in multilayer PCB production.
    • Reducing agent in electroless nickel plating (PCB, connectors, semiconductor packaging)
    • Hydride-transfer reagent for reduction of aldehydes and ketones in organic synthesis

    Packaging
Four 5KG double PE bags in 20kg UN HDPE drum

    Handling & Safety
DMAB is classified as a hazardous material for transport — flammable, and a skin/eye irritant. Decomposes on heating or contact with strong acids, releasing ammonia and borane gas. Handle with appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection) in a ventilated area. SDS available in English, Chinese, and Japanese.

    Quality Assurance
Each batch is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) verifying purity (by Iodate Titration), appearance, and melting point.
