Abstract

D-Tyrosine, chemically named (R)-2-Amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid (CAS 556-02-5), is the D-enantiomer stereoisomer of natural endogenous L-Tyrosine, a synthetic non-proteinogenic aromatic chiral amino acid.

Description

D-Tyrosine is an artificial synthetic chiral aromatic amino acid with stable optical activity, which is the right-handed enantiomer of natural L-Tyrosine and does not exist in organisms naturally. It is white to off-white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter taste; slightly soluble in water, soluble in dilute acid and alkali solution, ether and acetone.

Function

Tyrosinase inhibition: Selectively inhibits tyrosinase activity, negatively regulates melanin biosynthesis and blocks UV-induced pigmentation.
Anti-biofilm activity: Inhibits bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation of Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria, triggers biofilm dispersal without inhibiting bacterial growth.
Chiral biochemical research: Ideal chiral reference standard for stereochemistry, amino acid metabolism and enantioselective enzyme mechanism research.
