Ilaprazole sodium (CAS 172152-50-0), also known as IY-81149 sodium, is the sodium salt form of ilaprazole, a novel proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used in the treatment of duodenal ulcers and reflux esophagitis . It has the molecular formula C₁₉H₁₇N₄NaO₂S and a molecular weight of 388.42 g/mol . Ilaprazole was first launched globally by Livzon Pharmaceutical Group in 2007 as an enteric-coated tablet . Its acid-inhibitory activity is more than 4 times that of omeprazole, with a longer half-life and more sustained in vivo action.
