Product Overview
Chloroauric acid is a golden-yellow crystalline inorganic compound containing ≥47.8% gold. It is supplied at AR grade for analytical chemistry, gold plating, and pharmaceutical applications. It is highly soluble in water and ethanol .

Synthetic Process
Chloroauric acid is produced by dissolving pure gold in aqua regia, followed by distillation and crystallization .

Mechanism of Action
As a gold(III) salt, it serves as a source of gold ions for electroplating and as a precursor for gold nanoparticles and gold-based catalysts. It is also used in analytical chemistry for the determination of alkaloids and rubidium/cesium .
