Description
White Solid
ChEBI: Bupivacaine hydrochloride (anhydrous) is a racemate composed of equimolar amounts of dextrobupivacaine hydrochloride and levobupivacaine hydrochloride. The monohydrate form is commonly used as a local anaesthetic. It has a role as an adrenergic antagonist, an amphiphile, an EC 3.1.1.8 (cholinesterase) inhibitor, an EC 3.6.3.8 (Ca(2+)-transporting ATPase) inhibitor and a local anaesthetic. It contains a levobupivacaine hydrochloride (anhydrous), a dextrobupivacaine hydrochloride (anhydrous) and a bupivacaine(1+).

Bupivacaine hydrochloride Use and Manufacturing
Sodium channel blocker, local anesthetic Bupivacaine hydrochloride is an amide-type local anesthetic, generally used for nerve block anesthesia, local infiltration anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of amide-type local anesthetics, that is, the drug is first combined with plasma proteins, metabolized by the liver, and then excreted from the urine through the kidneys.
antineoplastic
Bupivacaine Hydrochloride is the salt form of Bupivacaine (B689561); is a sodium channel blocker, local anesthetic.
Drug Function and Efficacy
It is an amide long-acting local anesthetic. Its anesthesia time is 2 to 3 times longer than that of lidocaine hydrochloride, and its diffusion is similar to that of lidocaine hydrochloride. It has little effect on circulation and respiration, is non-irritating to tissues, and does not produce methemoglobin. The usual dosage has no effect on cardiovascular function. A large dosage can cause a decrease in blood pressure and a slow heart rate. It has a significant blocking effect on β-receptors. There is no obvious rapid tolerance. The maternal drug blood concentration is 4 times that of the fetus.
