EDTA TETRASODIUM SALT: HYDRATE Use and Manufacturing

EDTA is a metalloproteinase inhibitor with an effective concentration of 1-10mM. EDTA can be used as a chelating agent for the zinc ion of the metalloproteinase active center, and can also inhibit other metal ion-dependent proteases, such as calcium-dependent cysteine proteases. As an anticoagulant, the disodium or tripotassium salt of EDTA is usually used. The optimal concentration is 1.5 mg per mL of blood.
