Boric acid (HBO2), lead(2+) salt (2:1) Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Borax method adds water to borax, heats and dissolves in a dissolving tank, filters to remove insolubles, dilutes to a relative density of 5.5°Bé, and controls the temperature at 49°C, sends it to the reactor, and then gradually adds a relative density of 11°Bé(75 ~80℃) lead acetate solution (prepared from lead oxide and acetic acid) should be fully stirred during the feeding process to react to produce lead metaborate precipitation. After dilution with water, clarification and rinsing for three times, press filtration, the filter cake is dried at 80°C until the water content is below 3%, and crushed to the required fineness to obtain the finished product of lead metaborate. Pb(Ac)2+Na2B4O7·IOH2O→PbO·B2O3·H2O + 2NaAc+2H3BO3+6H2O Boric acid method After sieving the lead oxide, add dilute nitric acid and stir to dissolve it to generate lead nitrate. The filtrate is filtered to remove the slag, and the filtrate is added with ammonia water to adjust the pH to 8 to generate lead hydroxide precipitate. After the precipitate is washed with water, it is added to the reactor filled with boric acid solution, and an appropriate amount of glycerin is added, and the lead hydroxide and boric acid are fully stirred under stirring. The reaction produces lead metaborate, which is separated by pressure filtration, dried and crushed to obtain the finished product of lead metaborate. PbO+2HNO3→Pb(NO3)2+H2OPb(NO3)2+2NH4OH→Pb(OH)2↓+2NH4NO3Pb(OH)2+2H3BO3→PbO·B2O3·H2O+3H2O
