Chromium carbide (Cr3C2) Use and Manufacturing
The metal chromium powder carbonization method combines carbon black at a ratio of 13.5% to 64% (more than the theoretical combined carbon amount of 11.33%) with electrolytic chromium to pulverize 325 mesh metal chromium powder, and then dry-mix it with a ball mill As a raw material. Add 1% to 3% stearic acid as a lubricant for molding. Use pressure above 1 T/cm2 to form. Put the pressurized powder into a graphite pan or crucible, use a Taman furnace or an induction heating furnace, in a hydrogen stream (the hydrogen dew point is around -35°C), heat it to 1500-1700°C, and keep it for 1 hour to make Chromium undergoes a carbonization reaction to generate chromium carbide, which is cooled to obtain chromium carbide. 3Cr+2C→Cr3C2
Used to produce anti-wear films and semiconductor films.
