Diethylbenzene Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Industrially, diethylbenzene is a by-product of ethylbenzene production. At present, a large amount of ethylbenzene is obtained by the alkylation of benzene and ethylene, and a small amount of ethylbenzene is separated from mixed xylene fractions. For industrial diethylbenzene, about 9.4% of the ortho position, 61.5% of the meta position and 29.1% of the para position.
