TRANS-1,4-DIBROMO-2-BUTENE Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

From 1, 3-butadiene and bromine reaction. Add 126g of liquid 1, 3-butadiene to 250ml of carbon tetrachloride solution cooled to -5-15°C, and add 76ml of bromine dissolved in 100ml of carbon tetrachloride solution dropwise with stirring. After standing for two days, evaporate carbon tetrachloride under reduced pressure, add about 1 volume of petroleum ether, the temperature is 60-90℃, and filter while it is hot. After the filtrate is cooled, 172.8g of dibromide is precipitated. After standing for 10d, 78.5g is precipitated. A total of 251.3g of finished product was obtained, and the yield was 79%.

Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
