8-Chloro-6,11-dihydro-11-[1-[(5-methyl-3-pyridyl)methyl]-4-piperidylidene]-5H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridine fumarate is White Solid Rupatadine fumarate, a novel antiallergic drug with a dual mechanism of action, was introduced in Spain as an oral treatment for perennial and seasonal rhinitis. Rupatadine acts as non-sedating histamine H1 receptor antagonist and plateletactivating factor (PAF) antagonist.

Indication	1. Interaction with ketoconazole or erythromycin: When 20 mg of this product is taken together with ketoconazole or erythromycin, the systemic exposure will increase by 10 times and 2 to 3 times, respectively. Although this change does not result in prolongation of the QT interval and increase in adverse reactions compared to the use of this product alone. However, due to possible interactions, it is recommended not to use this product in combination with the above-mentioned drugs and other isoenzyme CYP3A4 inhibitors. 2. Interaction with alcohol: Some studies on psychomotor function have shown that when 10 mg of rupatadine is taken together with alcohol, it has only a slight effect on the mental effects of alcohol, and there is no significant difference from the effects of taking alcohol alone.
