Chloromethylstyrene-divinylbenzene-styrene copolymer Use and Manufacturing

Chloromethyl polystyrene and styrene monomers are copolymerized in order to obtain the Merrifield resin. This method avoids the use of carcinogenic chloromethyl methyl ether. This resin is used in the synthesis of peptide acids using Boc strategy and can be cleaved using HF or TFMSA. Different Boc protected amino acids attached to this resin is also available form stock.
