Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method is to put 7-chloro-8-methylquinoline and o-dichlorobenzene in the reaction kettle, and add the catalyst azobisisobutyronitrile, heat up, ventilate chlorine, and control the unreacted quinoline by gas chromatography. Until content ≤1%. O-dichlorobenzene is recovered by desolvation to obtain a mixture of 3, 7-dichloro-8-chloromethylquinoline and 3, 7-dichloro-8-dichloromethylquinoline.

Uses

Dichloroquinoline derivatives for use as herbicides.This compound is not stable in methanol.
