clear light yellow liquid (E)-4-Decenal is a pale yellow liquid with a powerful
aldehydic, orange-like, green, floral odor. It is used in fragrances to create fresh,
natural, citrus-like notes.
The material can be produced by the reaction of 1-octen-3-ol with ethyl vinyl
ether.
