Sodium p-chlorophenoxyacetate Use and Manufacturing
Using p-chlorophenol and chloroacetic acid as raw materials, the finished product is obtained by condensation and refining under alkaline conditions. Using phenol as a raw material, place phenol in a reactor, heat to melt, add 15% sodium hydroxide, and then add a mixed aqueous solution of chloroacetic acid and sodium carbonate, and heat to reflux for 4 hours. After the reactant is cooled, it is neutralized with hydrochloric acid and acidified to a pH value of 2 to 3 to generate phenoxyacetic acid with a yield of over 82%. Phenoxyacetic acid is dissolved in glacial acetic acid. Under the catalysis of iodine, chlorine gas is slowly introduced at 26~34℃. The reactant is left overnight, p-chlorophenoxyacetic acid is precipitated in cold water, filtered, washed with water to neutral and then dried, p-chlorophenoxyacetic acid is neutralized with sodium carbonate to obtain sodium salt.
As a plant growth promoter, my country stipulates that it is only used for bean sprouts, and the residual amount shall not exceed 1.0mg/kg. Used as plant growth regulator
