Alamifovir is an antiviral agent specific for HBV.|Alamifovir is a purine nucleotide analog prodrug with activity against wild-type and lamivudine-resistant hepatitis B virus (HBV). Alamifovir acts by inhibiting viral DNA priming and viral DNA packaging, thereby decreasing HBV replication.
